Volunteers

Colfax would not be the wonderful place it is without our dedicated volunteers! Some volunteers give hundreds of hours and some give a few - ALL are appreciated. Please sign-in and obtain your volunteer badge in the Main Office before entering the school to volunteer. It is also important to remember to sign out when you leave.

All volunteers must processed through the District with the following items:

1. Complete the annual Volunteer Application.

2. Turn in your printed application, signed Volunteer Commitment Form and COVID waiver to the box marked "LAUSD Volunteer Applications" in the Colfax office. Please include a current TB test with your application if you are a new volunteer OR if it has been 4+ years since your last test.

3. Upload your COVID vaccine to your Daily Pass.

4. Fingerprinting is not necessary for most volunteer tasks at Colfax, but please check with the office if you are unsure.

Some examples of volunteer opportunites at Colfax are: gardening with your student's class, supervising Kindergarten easel painting, homework checking, pulling math pages, wiping down tables, escorting children from cars as a Safety Valet, serving on a PACE or PTA committee or board, helping with Running Club and so, so much more. As you can see, there's a little bit of something for everyone who wants to be involved in our school!

Volunteer Tea

Each year in the spring, our teachers and staff put on a wonderful tea for our volunteers as a thank you for their service throughout the year. This is always a special time for teachers and parents to gather over brunch, socialize and celebrate all the success our students have had over the course of the school year.
