Dance
Our 4th and 5th grade students all participate in a Ballroom Dance program thanks to a partnership with the DREAM Dance Program supported by The Fordney Foundation.
DREAM is a nonprofit program that utilizes the art of ballroom dancing to teach kids to Discover, Respect, Express, Achieve, and Motivation.
This 30 week long program is offered in our 4th and 5th grade classes. During these 30 weeks, students learn various styles of ballroom dancing including Waltz, Hustle, Merengue, Swing, Salsa, Cha Cha, and many more. DREAM gives these children the opportunity to show off what they've been learning in a showcase held at Colfax for families to attend.
Currently in its 6th year at Colfax, DREAM has successfully implemented ballroom dancing into our school's well rounded education through the direction of Erica Arnold (Instructor & Art Director). We are so grateful to The Fordney Foundation for their support of this wonderful program.
